SUPER BOWL trends are difficult: there just are not that many games to look at. In general team defense has been a better indicator than team offense. This year the ranks for the two teams are:
Pittsburgh:
Points - Offense #9, Defense #3
Yards - Offense #16, Defense #4
Seattle:
Points - Offense #1, Defense #7
Yards - Offense #2, Defense #16
It's a classic match-up with one team having better offense (Seattle) and one the better defense (Pittsburgh).
Not that this constitutes a great deal of meaningful data, but based on this and the limited sample of Super Bowl games, it suggests this team is worth a closer look:
