NFL selections from Kevin Lewis

If you are one of the millions of people who has already read the "Bringing Down the House" bestseller, then Kevin Lewis will need no introduction. He is the central character and 'big player' in the team of MIT students who won millions of dollars at Blackjack over a span of several years from casinos throughout the country. His expertise however extends well beyond the game of '21' and indeed over the past two seasons he has published weekly picks for every single game, with a winning record of better than 55%!

Kevin will also be a participant in our Head-to-Head Challenge.

NFL Week Six

6-8 last week and I think it’s official… I’m mediocre. My overall record is now a very mediocre 33-36-3. I’m approaching “guy that writes for some dumb local paper” status. Well here it goes Week 6…

Miami +6 @ Buffalo
The immortal words of AJ Feeley were “we’ll never win a game this season”. But somehow I think that 6 points is a lot in a game where there are likely to be about 20 scored in total.

SF +10 @ NYJ
SF is not a good team. It’s not really their fault. Injuries and difficult personnel decisions have made them very young and inexperienced. But the bottom line is they play hard and are always a team with backdoor cover potential. Against a Jets team which is probably thinking about the showdown with NE next week 10 may be a good number.

NE -4 over Seattle
Pats will win this game. Seattle is not a good road team and even though they’ve won two this year they are still not likely to beat the Pats in Foxborough. This is not the Saints or the Bucs whom the Hawks own their two road wins against.

Carolina +9.5 @ Philly
Philly has the revenge factor but the bottom line is Carolina can keep this game close.

Cleveland -3 over Cincy
Cincy has been a major disappointment so far this season and Cleveland has played decently at home. They will be excited to finally get a game against a less than stellar defense.

Detroit -2 over GB
Detroit could beat GB in Detroit when GB was good. Now that GB owns possibly the worst defense in the league who doesn’t think Detroit can win at home.

Washington ev @ Chicago
The Washington D is playing great and they really should have won last week against Baltimore. Like to think they will come out with a spirited effort against a bad Chicago team.

Houston +6.5 @ Tennessee
Titans seem to have bounced back nicely but the fact remains their offense has become very conservative and their defense is susceptible to what is becoming a top ranked passing offense.

SD +4.5 @ Atlanta
It’s now time to come to the realities of the season. Atlanta is improved but is probably not among the NFL elite. SD is not a bad team.

Jacksonville +2 over KC
This game will be won or lost in the trenches and although I expect both teams to have success running the ball I just think Jax has a greater chance of stopping Priest than KC does stopping Fred Taylor

Dallas -3 over Pittsburgh
Weird game. I don’t think Dallas is very good but I have to think in a must win game, I’ll take Dallas over Pitt by three at home. As long as Parcells lets Vinny air this ball out the Cowboys should come away with a win.

Denver -2 @ Oakland
Don’t really like the road favorite but Oakland is in a bit of trouble and Denver always plays their best ball against the Raiders.

NO +3.5 over Minny
NO is up and down and this will be an up week

TB +6 @ St. Louis
Keep the ball off the ground. That will be the mantra for TB. If they can avoid turnovers I think this will be a close game.
