NFL selections from Kevin Lewis
If you are one of the millions of people who has already read the "Bringing Down the House" bestseller, then Kevin Lewis will need no introduction. He is the central character and 'big player' in the team of MIT students who won millions of dollars at Blackjack over a span of several years from casinos throughout the country. His expertise however extends well beyond the game of '21' and indeed over the past two seasons he has published weekly picks for every single game, with a winning record of better than 55%!
Kevin will also be a participant in our Head-to-Head Challenge.

NFL Week Nine
YUCK!!! 4-10 last week… Brings me to 52-58-4 for the season… Need to catch fire in this second half and turn things around. I’ve been looking at what’s been going wrong so far this season and it is pretty obvious that I have departed from the strategies that have made me successful in the past. Hopefully a return to my roots (and a pilgrimage to Boston) will turn things around. Couple rules:
- Don’t overreact to one week. Judge the team as a whole not what they did in their last game
- Stop betting on teams to cover and start betting on teams to win.
- There is parity in the NFL.
On to week 9…
Buffalo +3 over NYJ
Just think Buf D can stop this Jets offense and if weather can play a factor Buf can turn this into a messy low scoring affair.
Pit ev over Philly
Home team is the pick here as the Steelers avoid the letdown and takedown another undefeated team. Bottom line is Pit will be able to run on the Eagles and Eagles won’t be able to run against Philly.
Washington +3.5 @ Detroit
Still like the Redskins defense and I think Detroit is a bit overrated as their defense is not very good.
Cincy ev over Dallas
Love the Bungles here as Dallas has been very weak on the road and are simply not a good team.
Oak +7 @ Carolina
YUCK! Can’t back either team so I’ll take the points.
Miami -3 over Arizona
Miami is not as bad as they looked on Monday night and you’d have to think at home that they will feast on this Arizona offense. Couple that with a Zona team that cannot win on the road and Miami -3 looks like a good bet.
TB +3 over KC
The number is not like to matter here so the money line might be a nice play but I have to think that TB can give KC trouble on the road. Everyone is expecting a big run by these Chiefs but this is not the place to back them.
Chicago +9 over NYG
Lot of points for two teams that like to slug it out. Bottom line is Giants have been too up and down this season for me to back them with this kind of number.
SF +6.5 over Seattle
SF is in a heap of trouble… missing arguably their best CB, LB, OL, QB last week they were beaten by a bad Chicago team. But historically they have played Seattle well at home and getting Rattay back will make a difference.
SD -6.5 over NO
I’m a believer in these Chargers and NO is about to start the Haslet mid season swoon.
St. Louis +1.5 over NE
Injuries are the story here and NE is just too beat up to win this game. Everyone knows about the CB injuries but there are injuries on both the offensive line, and offensive skill positions.
Houston +7 @ Denver
Houston is underrated and will be able to move the ball against Denver through the air.
Cleveland +6 @ Baltimore
Browns are not a good road team but I can’t see giving six to a team that cannot score through the air.
Minny +6 @ Indy
Yeah yeah, I know Indy will not lose 3 straight but Minny can score with anyone and the return of Onterrio Smith will be huge as I see this high scoring affair ending with a potential upset.
