SCOTT'S BLOG!

September 2nd, 2008

  • NFL 2008 Week One
The week one action begins on Thursday with our opening week coverage already published in many cases. The preseason was a bit of a wash for me. My personal picks went 7-6. The TMW 'preseason angles' plays with two or more angles pointing to a team went 10-10, but the games with only one angle in effect went 19-6! Hopefully some people were backing the one angle teams too...
  • Nathan appointed manager of "Investor" area and customer service
The Investor subscription is the mainstay of the site. It contains an enormous amount of data and prediction models. Once you move out of the very first weeks of the season there are more than 20 different features published with their own point spread picks. Nathan's task is to bring new energy to the area and he has already accomplished much to that end. There are four notable research articles he has posted which all will be new features for the NFL 2008 season:
    - Play By Play Angles
    - 3rd Down Contrarian
    - DC+DC/TO: the 60% play
    - Outside Rushing: a key to success?

In addition Nathan will be on the frontline for helping site visitors and subscribers with any questions or assistance they may need.

  • Barrington Henry's personal picks go online
Barrington has been a hugely popular contributor to the site with his straight up office pool advice. This year for the first time he is offering not only the "unadjusted odds of winning" tables, but his own "adjusted odds picks." These are available now for the week one action, but you need to subscribe for the bargain price of just $20 for the full regular season. To find out more about Mr. Henry's area see Barrington Henry: Office Pool Mastery
  • My picks schedule
Also new for TwoMinuteWarning in 2008 is that I will have full game by game writeups, analysis and selections. The current plan is for an initial read on the games to be posted on Wednesday evening, pacific time. This will include recommended plays. Due to the injury report release being pushed to Friday evening I will have one update on Saturday if the injury news is substantial enough to warrant a change in thinking. For those who can wait in general I will advocate relying more on Saturday's report.
  • Office Pool Quick Picks available for week one
I don't recall how many years now the quick picks have been going but let's just say many. Through these years we have had a very large number of people write in to tell us they have won their pools with the "quickies" help and once again we will have full season quick picks coverage of both point spread and outright winner contests. All FREE! See the Office Pools page for access to the Quick Picks.
  • Good luck this season!
From all of us at TMW we wish you a fun, exciting and rewarding season following the NFL action.

July 9th, 2008

  • We're very busy here at TMW getting ready for NFL 2008 coverage.
The plan is to have a full launch on July 30th to kickoff the opening week of preseason games. Lots of great new handicapping tools and research will be unveiled at that time.
  • Three different subscription offerings:
    - for the serious handicapper, our Investor Subscription is only $99 for the full season (including playoffs) and gives you 20+ features each week with proven predictive value.

    - for office pool players having to pick the outright winner of games (not spread based), Barrington Henry's Office Pool Mastery provides the popular "unadjusted odds of winning table" as well as Barrington's own personal pool picks each week...all for just a $20 tax deductible donation to one of Mr. Henry's favorite charities.

    - for "dead serious" big money players, Scott's Picks is my own game by game NFL analysis and recommended plays. The full season package including playoffs is just $399 if you subscribe by August 8th, and $499 thereafter.

  • Tim returns
Our readership has had a love/hate relationship with TMW Tim over the years, but after his one year self imposed sabbatical he is back and ready to return to Week That Was commentary
  • Other exciting developments
We can't divulge the details just yet, but will shortly announce some important news.
