NFL SEASON KICKOFF!
Yes sir! Tim is grooving as we are finally here, after those long months of waiting, at the glorious day when the NFL season kicks off. All right, I'm a little early since the first game doesn't happen until Thursday (Thursday? what's up with that? oh yes, the NFL trying to squeeze out a few more dollars).
So this seems like an opportune moment to lay out what's in store for you, faithful reader, of the Two Minute Tim extravanganza this season.
I am charged with laying down the law, no..
I am charged with drinking you under the table, no...
I am charged with providing insightful commentary with my sole objective being to help you succeed in your chosen field of sports gaming in the NFL domain, whether that be trampling all over your fantasy league opponents, sticking it to the boss in the company office pool, or unleashing haymakers on the hapless bookies/casinos/offshore domiciles
(that and shilling up a few TwoMinuteWarning subscriptions...go on, subscribe, you know you want to)
To this end, my proposed schedule of operation (if it meets with your appoval) is:
Monday: reflecting on the week that was and the Monday Night game that is, complete with Tim's patent pending "NFL deep thoughts" regarding what we are seeing.
Wednesday: da picks...although thankfully I have talked the TMW folks out of having me make a pick on every jumping-jack game, and will instead dole out my "categoric selections"
Friday: well, as you may have noticed this could be considered my weak spot. Along with the occasional sick day, holiday day, optional unpaid leave day, and general tequila recovery day (quite frequent) there may be some readable stuff once in a while.
Now, you may have noticed the new remodel here of the Tim page...it turns out I was not required to use the drab, gray color sidebar, and so for the time being I am going with the new neon-green look...very nice, very nice indeed.
As for that trifling matter of the 'game of the century' pick I handed out last week, yes it did win. Very nice, very nice indeed.
Of course when you're a seasoned NFL veteran analyst like yours truly, it's just another one for the books. Watch for my GAME OF THE MILLENIUM coming later this season (yes, it was back in the bronze age many years ago that I spotted an upcoming matchup in 2002 that I duly noted would be a superb, can't lose situation and so have had it circled on my calender through the ages to the present day).
Anyway, that's enough labor for me on Labor Day -- hope everyone has a blissful time today and see you all on Wednesday when the TM Tim show begins for real!
