NFL 2002 Preseason Betting -- Part II

Salutations!

Okay, the muckety-mucks who make up the research department at TwoMinuteWarning.com folks came out with -- you guessed it -- more preseason research! Admittedly, this one is kind of cool and deals with offensive and defensive rankings in the prior year.

Another good read, and I recommend you check it out -- O/D Ranks.

There's a whole boatload of profitable areas that the research revealed, and who knows, maybe some of them will actually be good in 2002 too!

I'm a skeptic when it comes to angles with only a handful or two of games to their name, but I did like the second half of the O/D piece, which focused on the really good previous season teams and the really bad previous season teams. The angles then I can see backing (with your money preferably) are:

1) Play away teams against home teams which were top 10 in both offense and defense (unless the away team was also top 10 in both)

2) Play away teams that were bottom 10 in both offense and defense (unless the home team was also bottom 10 in both)

Take a deep breath now, as we launch into more humongous plays from Tim using the TMW connection:

[ Final 2002 Preseason Results: 11-5]

Week 1
New York Jets at Pittsburgh -- Pick: New York Jets (#1) - WON
Detroit at Baltimore -- Pick: Detroit (#2) - LOST
Kansas City at San Francisco -- Pick: Kansas City (#1) - WON

Week 2
Chicago at St. Louis -- Pick: Chicago (#1) - WON
Detroit at Cleveland -- Pick: Detroit (#2) - WON

Week 3
San Diego at St. Louis -- Pick: San Diego (#1) - WON
Cleveland at Green Bay -- Pick: Cleveland (#1) - Lost
Baltimore at Philadelphia -- Pick: Baltimore (#1) - WON
Carolina at New England -- Pick: Carolina (#1 + #2) - Lost
Buffalo at Indianapolis -- Pick: Buffalo (#2) - Lost
Atlanta at Dallas -- Pick: Atlanta (#2) - WON

Week 4
Carolina at Cleveland -- Pick: Carolina (#2) - WON
Minnesota at Pittsburgh -- Pick: Minnesota (#1 + #2) - WON
Atlanta at Cincinnati -- Pick: Atlanta (#2) - WON
San Diego at San Francisco -- Pick: San Diego (#1) - Lost
Tennessee at Green Bay -- Pick: Tennessee (#1) - WON

Holy smokes! I've never done so much typing in my life! That's sixteen -- count 'em, 16 -- plays in only four weeks...thank heavens that preseason is reasonably short.

Now, these are just the angle picks and you'll have to wait until the week of the game for my Win-O-Rama official picks.

Until Friday then, and don't try to reach me this afternoon...I'll be at opening day of dat dem Del Mar joint!
