Have you watched a game and wondered if the Wrong Team Won? If the stats didn't show up in the final score? If cooking sherry can be drunk without the cooking part? Our bold adventurer Tim is here to answer all of these questions and more.

THE WEEK THAT WAS: NFL Playoffs (Divisional Round)
With commentary by Tim

  • PSR: Play Success Rate - every play is graded as either a success or failure
  • Big: percentage of plays that went for big gains...10+ yards for a run, 20+ for a pass
  • Yds: adjusted yards per play, including penalties and excluding non-plays
  • EFR: Effectiveness rating. One number overall summary.
  • Stats Score: This is the projected score the TMW computer would have spit out if the stats for the game were the numbers coming in. This column lets us know who "should" have won.

You may not like football as much as I do, but heck, you've got to admit that the Pittsburgh-Indianapolis game was damn fine entertainment. Made even better of course by the Ref giving the ball back to Peyton after the blatant interception. What a game. What a game. Long live the NFL! All is forgiven.

Come on, you weren't surprised by this result were you? Washington was doing it with smoke and mirrors all along. I mean yes we had Trent Dilfer in the Super Bowl, but Mark Brunell - I don't think so. Seahawks appear to just be getting warmed up folks. Can they take the TwoMinuteWarning top power ranking to the trophy? We'll see.

The WRONG TEAM WON! Ho ho. This was fun too. If the Patriots had made it to the Super Bowl as I said before I would have puked. Yeah they got ripped off on the Bailey fumble through the end zone. I'm no Raiders fan but they should have had bad karma for years after that ridiculous tuck game instead of becoming legends. The burden is lifted.

The WRONG TEAM WON! Wow. Big Ben deserves MVP honors in this one, not just for his solid passing, but for that game saving tackle. Golden! What a game. What a game. What a game. One for the ages.

Panthers showed just how good they can be when they're serious. Seattle better be ready to play.
