THE WEEK THAT WAS: The Super Bowl
With commentary by Tim
- PSR: Play Success Rate - every play is graded as either a success or failure
- Big: percentage of plays that went for big gains...10+ yards for a run, 20+ for a pass
- Yds: adjusted yards per play, including penalties and excluding non-plays
- EFR: Effectiveness rating. One number overall summary.
- Stats Score: This is the projected score the TMW computer would have spit out if the stats for the game were the numbers coming in. This column lets us know who "should" have won.

Well well well, what have we here then? Hmmmm? It looks as if we have a WRONG TEAM WON game. What a way to end. Stinky calls by the officiating crew in the first half set a tone that maybe had the Seahawks in a malaise for the second half. As they say, dem's the breaks buddy.
To recap the season then for old Timmy:
lost the NFL Game of the new millenium
when the Colts couldn't cover
|
WON!!! the GAME OF THE ETERNITY
when the Packers won and covered in the last week of the season against a couldn't care less Seahawks and "so glad to see Brett's possibly last game" opposing head coach
|
Since there is no stronger play you can make than a "game of the eternity" pick (well, unless you believe in the 80 million different universes theory) it all adds up to ONE GREAT BIG WHOPPING HUGE WINNING SEASON for Tim.
Apparently the TwoMinuteWarning-ers weren't so lucky.
Will I be back next season? You betcha.
Will the rest of this sadsack crew be back? Bwu-hah-hah, BWU-HAH-HAH, BWUU-HAH-HAH! Ya got me, what do I know about what happens in this joint? Not much. I will however posit a theory:
1) Barrington Henry: back for another year.
2) Week that was and Game of the Eternities (80 million universe edition) pick from yours truly: back next year.
3) All kinds of new free content to tempt the unsuspecting: here next year
4) "New and Improved" slogans all over the place: likely.
5) Some big newfangled whizbang charter minutiae statistics plan: undoubtedly so
6) Do I hear college football? Gasp: cloudy, check back later
7) New ownership, management: if I was a betting man I'd say that's heavy favorite action
...in other words, me and Barrington will be running the joint.
...and that can only be GOOD NEWS!
See you next season, same bat time, same bat channel!
